At Baze, our dietitians are the backbone of everything we do. They hold a wide variety of roles within our company, all with the goal of helping you unlock your true potential through better nutrition.
Since they’re so important, we thought we’d tell you more about each one of them—starting with Rachel.
Meet Rachel Caine, MS, RD, LDN, our Customer Care and Operations Lead
My journey toward dietetics began as an undergraduate, though I didn’t realize this at the time. I brought dreams of entering the healthcare field to college but quickly traded in my chemistry major for one in ancient Greek and Latin, which gave me an appreciation for the depth of the human experience. I ended up circling back to my affection for food and decided to pursue a master’s in journalism to become a food writer, but through my love of food, fitness, and communication, I couldn’t stop researching nutrition. So it all came full circle, and ultimately I decided to become a registered dietitian.
What do you do at Baze?
I’m the Customer Care Lead, which means my days are a mix of EVERYTHING because customers are at the heart of everything we do. We listen to and support our customers—and I help make sure that this happens!
The future of health that I would like to see looks like:
Access to accurate, personalized, unbiased, affordable, prevention-based care for everyone, every day.
If you could give Baze users one piece of advice, it would be:
Health and well-being isn’t an endpoint, it’s an everyday step. Do one small thing each day for your health. And wear sunscreen every day.
Who or what inspires you?
Currently, my son (6.5 months old as of this writing) is a huge inspiration and motivation for me day-to-day, because I always want to be a good role model for him, in everything I do.
I’m also inspired by people showing up in their own lives: A middle-aged dad who decides to take back control of his health by walking to work every day, a newly retired woman who decides to volunteer at a women’s shelter, a college student who gets help for his depression and anxiety.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I love to travel, run, write, experiment in the kitchen, and hang out with my husband, son, and two corgis. Family is everything.
Any additional certificates or brags?
Did I mention that I love running? I’ve run 15 half marathons, six full marathons, two 50Ks and attempted (made it 37.5 miles) a 50-miler. It’s been slow coming back post-baby, but I’m learning to be patient with myself and show up where I’m at—I’ll be back to marathoning soon enough!
